Terror associate from UP held in Gandhi Nagar

JAMMU, Oct 10: Special Operations Group (SOG) Jammu and Gandhi Nagar police today arrested a terror associate of Rampur in Uttar Pradesh who was conducting recee of vital and strategic installations in the area on the directions from his handlers across the border.
He has been identified as Mohammad Anas son of Mohammad Saleem, a resident of village Mutiyapura Bajarpatti in Dheeraj Nagar area of Tanda District Rampur in Uttar Pradesh.
SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli told the Excelsior that the terror associate was in touch with handlers across the border through WhatsApp and Telegram via mobile telephone numbers.
“Mobile telephones recovered from the militant associate are being scrutinized and will be sent for recovery of data to ascertain which installations he had photographed and videographed and how many of them he had already forwarded across the border,” Kohli said.
Sources said the accused was arrested from Gole Market Gandhi Nagar where he was videographing the crowded market. He could be part of the terror module planning terror attacks which was operating from Pakistan.
He has been booked under FIR No. 278/2021 and Sections 120-B/121 RPC and Unlawful Activities Prevention Act. His further questioning is on and some vital clues are expected.
SP SOG Jammu Naresh Singh, SOG Inspector Pawan Singh, SDPO Gandhi Nagar Purshotam Mengi and SHO Gandhi Nagar Inspector Bharat Sharma are engaged in questioning of the terror associate.
