SRINAGAR, Oct 1: Police in Pulwama today said to have arrested a bootlegger and recovered 11 bottles of illicit liquor from his possession.
Officers at a checkpoint established near PS Kakapora, intercepted a vehicle (Tipper) bearing registration number JK03-6535 driven by Tanveer Ahmad Mantoo son of Abdul Majid Mantoo resident of Kadlabal Pampore.
During the search, officers were able to recover 11 bottles of illicit liquor from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to Police Station Kakapora where he remains in custody. The vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized.
Accordingly, case FIR No. 132/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered in PS Kakapora and investigation into the matter has been initiated.
