SRINAGAR : The fresh batch of 8,363 pilgrims today left for the Holy Amarnath cave shrine in South Kashmir from Baltal and Nunwan base camps in this winter capital of Jammu and Kashmir.
Officials said yatra, which commenced from June 28 from both shortest Baltal and traditional Pahalgam routes, was going on smoothly.
Yatris, from different parts of the country, are being provided all facilities, including health care at all halting stations on both tracks.
Besides, trained personnel from different security agencies have been deployed to meet any emergency in case of heavy rains.
They said 3,336 pilgrims, including women and sadhus left Baltal base camp for the the Holy cave shrine despite cloudy weather and forecast for rain or thundershowers during the day.
Similarly, 4,927 yatris left Nunwan Pahalgam base camp for the shrine.
Those who had night halt at different halting stations on this traditional route have also started their onwards journey.
More than 1,95,000 pilgrims had darshan of the self made Ice- Shivlingam in the cave shrine since the start the yatra from June 28.
Five pilgrims have so far lost their lives during the pilgrimage.
