BJP Mahila Morcha Prabhari chairs meeting

BJP Mahila Morcha, State Prabhari, Asha Jaswal at a party function at Jammu on Thursday.

JAMMU, July 11: After being nominated as State Prabhari of Jammu and Kashmir BJP Mahila Morcha, Asha Jaswal, who is National secretary of the Morcha, chaired a meeting of the Morcha State office bearers, district presidents and Working Committee members at party headquarters here today along with BJP State president Jugal Kishore Sharma, State general secretary (Organisation) Ashok Koul, senior leader Suresh Jamwal and Morcha State president, Priya Sethi.
Threadbare discussions were held with the Morcha leaders and strategy discussed for further strengthening Mahila Morcha in view of Mission 2014 of the party.
BJP State president Jugal Kishore Sharma, while recalling the role of brave Indian women in the past, said that history is witness to the fact that whenever needed the women  displayed more valour in the field. He said that the present day women should take inspiration from such women.
Asha Jaswal, in her address, said that the women constitute about 50 per cent of the country’s population and they have been playing very active role in family, in society and in political line. They are bestowed with a number of responsibilities and perform multiple duties very effectively. Although, the Indian society is still male dominated to a great extent but still a woman has proved her capability and worth even in odds, she added.
Ashok Koul, BJP general secretary (Org) said that the political environment in the State demand unity among the nationalist people and the women too have to contribute for this purpose.
Mahila Morcha National Executive Member and State Prabhari Suresh Jamwal said that the women today is more informed, well versed with the social and political developments and can bring a revolution in the society by her active role.
Mahila Morcha State President Priya Sethi said that the time has come when the women should be given political reservation so that they can themselves be part in the decision making bodies and focus on the welfare of women.
Morcha State general secretary Anuradha Charak conducted the proceedings while another general secretary Anju Dogra presented vote of thanks.
