JAMMU, Sept 21: President of National Mazdoor Conference (NMC), Subash Shastri demanded release of pending installment of 3 per cent DA due from July this year in favour of Central/State/UT Government employees and pensioners.
In a memorandum sent to the Prime Minister, NMC described that the price index which was 8.04 per cent in December last year has increased to 11 per cent in July this year and urged the PM to take decision in this regard in forthcoming cabinet meeting.
He also urged upon the Union Government to immediately release a special package of Rs. 2000 crore for regularization of 61000 daily rated workers working in various departments of J&K.
Release of pending arrears of 11 per cent DA which was released by the Union government recently and implementation of all Central Labour Laws in J&K were also highlighted in the memorandum.
