JAMMU, Aug 23: Lok Janshakti Party J&K unit president, Rafiq Malik today urged the Central Government to ensure security of political leaders to felicitate their free movement.
It was stated by him while welcoming the new entrants in the Party fold in a function which was held here wherein top leadership of the Party including Varun Bali (vice president), RP Singh (general secretary), Puran Chand Malhotra (general secretary Jammu province), Mohd Rafi Shah (president Minority Cell) and many other were present.
The new entrants expressed full faith in the policies and programmes of the LJP under the leadership of president, Rafiq Malik.
Speaking on the occasion, Malik said the LJP believes in strengthening the people and is committed to equitable development of Jammu and Kashmir. He also said the party is duty bound to address the aspirations of the people. “It is the duty of the Government to address the unemployment issue immediately and to regularise the daily wagers and other workers, engaged in various Government departments,” he demanded.
“Since the year 2012 when the targeted killing of Sarpanches began, the political parties have been petitioning the Centre and J&K Government for providing security cover but they seem least bothered about it,” he said.
