Durga Nagar Welfare Committee submits memorandum to CS

JAMMU, Aug 12: The Durga Nagar Welfare Committee president, Sector, Roshan Lal Raina called on Chief Secretary (CS) J&K UT, Dr Arun Kumar Mehta at Srinagar today and submitted a memorandum highlighting the demands of the displaced Pandits to him.
The memorandum demanded enhancement of relief of migrants from Rs 13,000 to Rs 20,000, providing of accommodation to PM package employees who are presently living in rented accommodations, regular power supply to Durga Nagar, providing water supply to Durga Nagar on alternate days, filling up of post of ACR in Relief Commissioner’s Office and providing funds to Relief Organisation Jammu for purchase of furniture for newly created zone.
During his meeting with Chief Secretary, Raina demanded that UT Government should immediately sent a proposal to Union Government regarding enhancement of relief so that this long pending demand is settled.
The Chief Secretary assured the delegation that the concerned departments would be asked to take necessary steps in redressing the demands of migrants and regarding the enhancement of relief he said a proposal will be submitted to Central Government.
Later Raina called on Advisor to L G, Rajiv Batnagar and discussed the issue of construction of tube well and two lakh gallon OHT on JDA land. He also met the Principal Secretary, Urban and Housing Department, Deeraj Gupta and discussed the issue of tile and premixing work in Durga Nagar.
He met Principal Secretary, Education Department, B K Singh and demanded the attachment of cancer patient near his home locality.
He also met Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Medical Education Department, Atul Dullo and demanded shifting of Allopathic Dispensary to Durga Nagar.
