VIJAYPUR, Aug 12: Senior National Conference (NC) leader, Surjeet Singh Slathia today highlighted the need of maintaining timeline of various developmental projects and welfare schemes, especially in rural and border areas.
Interacting with Sarpaches and Panches at Nandpur, Ramgarh block of Vijaypur Assembly Constituency, the NC leader said delays in development works not only lead to cost escalation but also deprive the people of basic facilities.
“Rural development sector needs focused attention as it is directly involved with the transformation of rural landscape due to establishment of Panchayat Raj Institutions” he maintained adding: “We have been votaries of equitable development of all the regions and sub-regions of J&K with opportunities of progress to all.”
Slathia expressed concern over the slow pace of execution on various developmental projects and delay in filling up the vacancies in order to address the unemployment problem.
He said Jammu, particularly its rural belts, have suffered hugely over the years on all fronts, as a result of which people are nurturing sense of deprivation and discrimination.
Prominent among those present on the occasion were Block Development Council Chairman, Jogeshwar Singh Jamwal and Darshan Choudhary.
The proceedings of the interaction were conducted by Rampal Sharma, Block NC President Ramgarh and Prempal Choudhary.
