Theft case worked out, 3 arrested

RAMBAN, Aug 7: Batote Police worked out a theft case which took place in a mosque with the arrest of three persons.
As per police sources, on August 3 this year, a complaint was lodged by Naib Imam Jamia Masjid Batote namely Mudassir Ali, son of Mohammad Shareef Mir of Bharti Tehsil Gandoh District Doda with Police Station Batote stating that some unknown persons have stolen Rs 25,000 to Rs 30,000 cash from donation box of Jamia Masjid Batote.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 81/2021 under Sections 457 and 380 IPC was registered at Police Station Batote and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a team from Police Station Batote led by SHO Inspector Ranjeet Singh Rao rounded up several suspects and finally nabbed the thieves, who confessed their involvement in donation box breaking case and from their possession stolen coins of Rs 341 were also recovered.
The arrested persons were identified as Muzafar Ahmed, son of Bashir Ahmed of Rajgarh, Nasir Ahmed, son of Mohammad Abhraim of Boonbari Batote and Raju, a resident of Bhaghu Nallah Batote.
Further questioning of the arrested persons is going on to ascertain their involvement in other theft cases.
