JAMMU, Aug 6: Jhajjar Kotli, Manwal and Bus Stand Police arrested three drug peddlers with 30,000 banned intoxicant capsules, while Bishnah and RS Pura Police arrested three absconders and four notorious criminals.
As per police sources, on specific information, a joint team from Police Station Jhajjar Kotli led by SHO Inspector Devinder Singh and assisted by Incharge Police Post Manwal led by Inspector Vikram Singh Jasrotia laid a naka and intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK05C-8090.
During checking, police team recovered 30,000 banned intoxicant capsules from the vehicle and arrested two persons, who were identified as Shoket Ahmad, son of Mohammad Sultan Tantray and Mashkoor Ahmad, son of Abdul Ghani, both residents of Reshipora, District Kupwara.
A case under FIR Number 134/2021 under Section 8/21/22/25/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli and investigation started.
The overall arrest and recovery was made under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Parupkar Singh.
Meanwhile, while investigating a case registered FIR Number 48/2021 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act, a team from Police Station Bus Stand led by PSI Aaquib Lateef apprehended one more drug peddler from Rehari, who was identified as Kushagra Choudhary, son of Raja Choudhary, a resident of Durga Nagar District Jammu.
It is pertinent to mention here that the second drug peddler has been arrested on the disclosure of already arrested drug peddler identified as Nitin Gupta, son of Pawan Gupta.
The arrest was made under the supervision of SHO Bus Stand Inspector Deepanker Singh, SDPO City Sharad Kalu and SP City Mohita Sharma.
However, teams from Police Station Bishnah led by SHO Inspector Joginder Singh and Police Station RS Pura led by SHO Inspector Jai Pal Sharma apprehended three absconders, who were evading their arrest from over a decade.
The arrested absconders were identified as Wali Mohammad, son of Mohammad Hussain of RS Pura, Farid Ali, son of Mohammad Hussain of RS Pura and Ram Lal, son of Faqir Chand of Fatwal Banachak Tehsil Bishnah.
Wali Mohammad was wanted in a case registered under FIR Number 92/2020 under Sections 341, 323 and 506 IPC and 4/25 Arms Act with Police Station RS Pura, while Farid Ali was wanted in a case registered under FIR Number 92/2020 under Sections 341, 323 and 506 IPC and 4/25 Arms Act with Police Station RS Pura and Ram Lal was wanted in a case registered under FIR Number 56/2010 under Section 376 RPC with Police Station Bishnah.
In another case, a team from Police Station Miran Sahib led by SHO Inspector Mirza Sultan apprehended four notorious criminals wanted in attempt to murder case. Four sharp edged weapons were also recovered from their possession.
The accused were identified as Balwinder Kumar alias Panday, son of Daya Ram of Chakroi RS Pura, Jeet Raj alias Rinku, son of Som Raj of Khour, Rupal Kumar, son of Krishan Lal of Bahadur Khan Miran Sahib and Jasbir Singh alias Babbu, son of Gurcharan Singh of Khour.
They were wanted in a case registered under FIR Number 76/2021 under Sections 307, 147, 148 and 120 IPC and 4/25 Arms Act with Police station Miran Sahib. A motor bike has also been recovered from their possession.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
The absconders and criminals were arrested under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Shabir Khan and SP Headquarters Ramnish Gupta.
