Manjit pays rich tributes to Kargil war hero

VIJAYPUR, July 6: Former Minister and Provincial president of Apni Party, Manjit Singh today paid rich tributes to Kargil war hero, Gurdeep Singh Soni (Sena Medal) on his 22nd martyrdom at Sheikhupura Plota in Ramgarh, here today.
The occasion was attended by Director Zila Sainik Board, Brig (retired) Harcharan Singh along with officers of 8 Sikh, Indian Army.
“We are proud to have such a brave soldier who fought bravely and left a legacy for the youth of J&K to follow. He was a hero of the country. We feel protected because of our defence forces who protect the nation’s border,” said Manjit Singh while paying tributes to the martyr.
He said that the borders are protected by the sons of the country belonging to different states, and Union Territories. “This feeling of unity and courage to protect the motherland has united the people of the country against our enemy,” he said.
He said that drug addiction has consumed the youth of our society. “Time has come when they should learn and contribute towards nation building,” added Manjit Singh.
On this occasion, Director, Zila Sainik Board, Brig (retired) Harcharan Singh also paid tributes to martyr Gurdeep Singh.
Family members of the martyr soldier including Sardar Mohan Singh, father and Manjeet Kour, mother, besides, sisters and other family members of the martyred soldier were also present on the occasion.
