Anganwadi workers demand release of pending salary

JAMMU, July 6: Anganwadi Workers Welfare Association affiliated with Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh has decided to protest in support of their long pending demands.
In a press conference here today Association president, Sawarna Choudhary appealed Anganwadi Workers and Helpers to participate in the protest.
She claimed that wages of Anganwadi Workers and Helpers have not been paid for the last six months from January 2021 to June 2021.
Choudhary also said their arrears of the months from October 2018 to December 2018 are pending along with three month salary from January 2019 to March 2019.
“Apart from this the carriage chargers are not paid for the year 2020 to till date due to which poor and low paid workers are facing finical crisis,” Association leaders told reporters.
They demanded that Anganwadi workers be declared as Front Line Workers.
Their other demand was that CDPO should be posted at block level as many blocks have no permanent CDPO.
Association general secretary, Neelam Sharma has appealed LG, Manoj Sinha to intervene so that their salaries are released.
