JAMMU, June 17: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad Jammu Kashmir has submitted a memorandum to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha seeking creation of vacancies of Dental Surgeon as no vacancy was created by the previous Governments for the last 13 years.
In the memorandum, ABVP drew attention towards non-availability of Dental Surgeons in the Government hospitals thus depriving a large chunk of population especially of rural areas from their oral health facilities.
The ABVP said that on the other hand, around 5000 Dental Surgeons registered in Jammu Kashmir are jobless which has made their situation deplorable as well as pathetic in the newly carved UT.
Besides seeking to create and advertise posts of Dental Surgeons, ABVP also suggested to create a Directorate of Dental Health for Jammu Kashmir on the pattern similar to Himachal Pradesh and Haryana. This separate and exclusive directorate would be able to solve various issues of Dental Surgeons which are pending since many years, said ABVP State Secretary Mukesh Manhas.
