RAMBAN, June 7: Ramsoo Police arrested a trucker along with 10 kilograms of poppy straw.
As per police sources, a team from Police Station Ramsoo headed by ASI Mohammad Ashraf during checking intercepted a truck bearing registration number PB08BP-4271, which was on its way from Srinagar towards Jammu.
During checking, police team recovered 10 kilograms of poppy straw from the vehicle and arrested the driver, who was identified as Buta Singh, son of Tarseem Singh, a resident of Kapurthalla Punjab.
During preliminary questioning, the driver confessed that he was illegally transporting the poppy straw from Kashmir to Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 62/2021 under Section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Ramsoo and investigation started.
