JAMMU, June 3: J&K Apni Trade Union (JKATU) here today opposed the decision of Power Development Department (PDD) to force employees to visit every household to click photos of meters in the COVID-19 pandemic situation.
In a meeting JKATU president, Ajaz Kazmi has demanded postponing of the process by at least two months till the COVID-19 situation improves as the life of employees could not be put to risk.
The trade union leader said that sending employees to houses of people may prove dangerous for them and their families.
He said that decision of higher-ups of PDD should be reviewed and the lives of the employees should not be put to risk unnecessarily.
JKATU also demanded regularization of the daily wagers, contractual, casual workers and other daily rated workers in different Government departments.
