Bovines smuggling bids foiled; 41 cattle rescued, 8 arrested

JAMMU, June 1: Nagrota, Jhajjar Kotli and Panjtirthi Police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 41 bovine animals and arrested 8 persons.
As per police sources, teams from Police Station Nagrota, Police Station Jhajjar Kotli and Police Post Panjtirthi during checking in their respective jurisdictions intercepted six vehicles.
During checking, police teams rescued 41 bovine animals from the vehicles and arrested 8 persons, who were identified as Shafqat Ali, son of Mohammad Nusrat Khatana of District Anantnag, Abdul Gafoor, son of Bashir Ahmed of District Anantnag, Munwar Khan, son of Manzoor Ahmed of Jagti Nagrota, Bashir Ahmed Famad, son of Mohammad Abdullah of District Anantnag, Manzoor Ahmad, son of Abdul Ghani of District Ramban, Nazir Ahmed, son of Ghulam Din of District Ramban, Mohammad Rafiq, son of Mohammad Bashir of Babliana Gadigarh District Jammu and Mohammad Rafiq, son of Mohammad Babu of Tanda Jagti.
Cases under relevant Sections have been registered at Police Stations Nagrota, Jhajjar Kotli and Pacca Danga and investigation started.
The arrests were made by SHO Nagrota Inspector Mohammad Shoket, SHO Jhajjar Kotli Inspector Devinder Singh and Incharge Police Post Panjtirthi SI Ranjit Singh.
