SRINAGAR, May 30: Bharatiya Janata Party general secretary (organization) Ashok Koul today said that the party is committed to the development in Kashmir and over the past seven years Central Government has reached every home in the country.
Addressing a gathering after listening to ‘ Mann Ki Baat’ at Bootapatri, Gulmarg to mark the seven years of the Central government under the dynamic leadership of PM Narendra Modi, Koul said BJP is committed to the overall development of Kashmir valley.
“We are committed to peace and development and will have zero tolerance against the corruption in Jammu and Kashmir and will set an example of good governance,” Koul said.
He said the seven years of the Modi government have set examples as drinking water, electricity and good governance reached to our homes.
Koul also appreciated the role of doctors, police and covid warriors, urging people to follow guidelines and SOPs to combat the deadly virus.
“Our party workers carried out 970 programmes across the Valley as part of the campaign called ‘Seva Hi Sangathan’ to mark the completion of seven years of the Modi-led Government at the Centre,” he said.
“600 kits of ration, sanitisers, masks were distributed among the people at Bootapatri Gulmarg and a medical camp was also organised for the people to carry out free health checkups and Covid-19 tests,” Koul said.
Later, Koul also distributed the ration kits among the families in Srinagar parts and stated that party leadership is committed to overall development.
While appreciating the work of the party in Kashmir, he said they have done a remarkable job during the COVID-19 crisis and it should continue in future.
Party’s UT vice president Sofi Yousuf said previous Government regimes failed to provide a platform to Kashmiri youth and due to which they were alienated from the mainstream.
“From the past seven years, youth are coming forward to join mainstream,’ he said.
Senior party leader and Minority Morcha Prabari, Dr Ali Mohammad Mir organized a blood donation camp in LD hospital Srinagar. Mir said people have accepted BJP with open hearts and the party will continue to respect people’s faith and dedication.
Spokesperson Altaf Thakur also distributed Covid material, food kits, fruits among the families in Tral.
