JAMMU, May 30: Monthly meeting of Jammu Kashmir Teachers Masters Association (JKTMA) was held in virtual mode under the chairmanship of State president Rakesh Singh to discuss the various burning issues of Teachers/Masters.
Rakesh Singh appealed the Administrative Secretary School Education B K Singh to speed up the exercise for DPC of all cadres of teaching community, particularly Teachers/Masters to Lecturers as more than 3000 post of lecturers are lying vacant in Higher Secondary Schools.
On behalf of the Association, he demanded 100 percent DPC to all posts of Lecturers on one time basis as per decision of State Administrative Council, which is mandatory to create more and more substantive vacant posts of General Line Teachers to adjust Grade 2 and Grade 3 teachers who are at present working on the supernumerary temporary posts.
Association urged Administrative Secretary to end system of Contractual Lecturers in Higher Secondary Schools as it lacks accountability and responsibility towards annual results of schools and so degrades the quality of Education in Govt schools. Further, it added, lack of staff at senior secondary Schools is one of the main reason of dropout and less enrollment in Govt schools which needs to be redressed at earliest by DPC as per Govt order 252 and SRO 339 which speaks to exclude distance mode Science degree holders who were enrolled after December 2005.
Rakesh Singh demanded that all the teachers who have completed four years in total within the municipal limits should be transferred to rural areas on rotation basis as VIP culture and political/bureaucratic interference in transfer policy has ruined the work culture of Govt schools .
“There is a need to create new Master Grade posts equivalent to the number of Head Teachers posts to resolve the issue of salary of Head Teachers and this step will also pave the way for DPC of Teachers to Masters which is halted due to freezing of regular vacant Master Grade posts for salary of SSA Headteachers,” Singh added.
The Association also demanded to frame Regularisation Policy of Vocational Teachers in Govt schools as New Education Policy stresses on the value of vocational education right from 6th class.
