POONCH, May 19: Organized by Government Degree College (GDC) Poonch in collaboration with APA College for Women, Palani, Tamil Nadu, a three-day National level symposium on culture connect concluded today.
The symposium was organized through virtual mode in which nearly more than 400 Professors, Associate Professors, Assistant Professors, Research Scholars and students from all over the nation participated. The conference was inaugurated on 17th of May with the welcome address delivered by Dr Yougish Kumar Sharma, coordinator of the programme.
Prof Dr N Puvaneshwari, Principal APA College for Women Palani and Prof Dr Lalit Mangotra (an eminent Dogri writer) delivered a talk on culture and heritage of Jammu and Kashmir while Prof Khadam Hussain (IQAC coordinator) and Dr S M Sahni (Convener, INTACH, Jammu Chapter) delivered a talk on Treasures of J&K.
Prof Dr A D Padma Shree (Assistant Professor, Department of History, Jeyaraj Annapackiyam College Periyakulam, Thani, Tamil Nadu) spoke on the art of living in Tamil Nadu while Dr M Vijay Shanthi (Assistant Professor, Dept of History, Fatima College Madurai, Tamil Nadu) delivered a lecture on the culture and heritage of Tamil Nadu.
Prof Shahzad Bandey (GDC Poonch) spoke on the art of living in J&K while J Sharmila (Lady Doak College, Madurai, Tamil Nadu) discussed the treasures of Tamil Nadu.
Principal GDC Poonch Mussaraf Hussain shah in his address discussed the motto of establishing Ek Bharat Sherashta Bharat Club. He recalled the spirit of the programme, Prime minister’s vision i.e. strengthening of the unity and integrity of nation through culture connect. He also highlighted the role of Sardar Valla Bhai Patel, first Home Minister of India in the integration of Princely states into one strong Nation i.e. present day Bharat.
Prof Dr Indoo Pandey Khanduri (Director Faculty Development Centre Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya National Mission for Teachers and Teaching, Union Ministry of Education), was the special guest on the occasion.
