JKMEF stages protest, demands early conduct of DPC

JAMMU, May 11: Jammu Kashmir Medical Employee Federation under the chairmanship of its president Sushil Sudan organized a protest dharna from 4.30 PM to 5.30 PM at Director Health Services complex Jammu to raise their genuine demands of DPC which has not been done since last four years.
There are a number of promotional posts lying vacant in many hospitals as a result of which the system is overburdened in the hospitals, the protesting employees said, adding, despite issuing directions by Financial Commissioner, Health & Medical Education to Director Health Services Jammu, no attention is being paid to their demand.
The employees said that during this pandemic period of COVID-19, the Health employees are giving their best to fight against this deadly virus but are deprived of their due service benefits. All the speakers raised the demand of release of salary under 2211 head which is pending for the last three months and in the absence of which female multipurpose health workers have been suffering badly.
The speakers also advocated for incentives to all the categories of health employees and extension of services even of retiring paramedical staff and safaiwallas, saying that they are also part of this battle against COVID.
At last, all the employees strongly demanded that their genuine demand of DPC should be fulfilled. They also urged to Lt Governor to intervene in this matter so that the health employees could get their due services benefit, and fight this pandemic with fresh energy.
