JAMMU, Apr 27: Federation of Retailers Associations— Jammu (FRA-J) has appealed the Government to allow opening of shops and business establishments for five days a week i.e. from Monday to Friday instead of opening the same on rotational basis.
“The working hours of all the establishments can be curtailed in consultation with all the stake holders, especially Karyana Retailers, who deals in essential commodities,” said Yash Paul Gupta, president of the Association while adding that there should be a complete lockdown on Saturday and Sunday.
In the meeting which was attended by a large number of office bearers of the Association, Gupta said that all the departments should be instructed to impose strict imposition of Corona protocol without creating unnecessary problems for the general public. He further emphasized that the Government must bring the transporters on board and find out a solution so that neither the transporters nor the public suffers in the absence of public transport.
The meeting appealed the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to personally intervene into the matter and instruct the administration to revise various orders issued, by holding comprehensive consultations with all the stake holders because it is in the interest of everybody to save lives, remove difficulties, fight the infections and let the normal life go on causing minimum harm to the public life.
It was further urged that all the establishments and public places should be properly sanitized on Saturdays and Sundays, and cleanliness drive should be carried out and properly monitored on all days.
“No one should be allowed to visit the markets and public places without wearing a mask properly and this should be made mandatory for everyone using public or private vehicles,” the meeting added.
