Bovines smuggling bids foiled

JAMMU, Apr 23: Nagrota Police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 36 cattle and arresting four persons.
As per police sources, on reliable information, a team from Police Station Nagrota laid check points at various places on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway and intercepted 4 Srinagar bound vehicles bearing registration numbers JK02CJ-8771, JK02AL-5917, JK02CJ-8284 and JK02CP-5032.
During checking, police team rescued 36 bovine animals from the vehicles and arrested four persons, who were identified as Mushtaq, son of Mir Alam of Kore Jagir Nagrota, Muneer Ahmed, son of Gulzar Mohammad of Sunjwan Jammu, Ahmed Ali, son of Hakim Din of Khanpur Nagrota and Liaqat Ali, son of Mohammad Rafiq Khatana of Pazipora District Anantnag.
Cases under FIR Numbers 153/2021, 154/2021, 155/2021 and 156/2021 under relevant section of law have been registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Nagrota Inspector Mohammad Shoket made the arrests under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Parupkar Singh and SP Rural Sanjay Sharma.
