JAMMU, Apr 19: Two more persons have been arrested in the firing case registered with Police Station Gandhi Nagar.
As per police sources, a team from Police Station Gandhi Nagar conducted raid and apprehended two more persons involved in the firing case.
The arrested persons were identified as Rakesh Choudhary alias Sethi, son of Surjit Singh of Ward Number 4 Ramgarh District Samba and Amandeep Singh, son of Manjit Singh of Dadyal District Samba. They were arrested from the jurisdiction of Police Station RS Pura. With their arrest, total arrest in the case rises to 9.
As reported, on April 3 this year, a case was registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar after some unknown persons opened fire on the residence of contractor Choudhary Nagar Singh. In the firing, no one was injured. However, the main gate of the house and a car bearing registration number HP38F-6187 suffered damage. Cartridges were also recovered from in and outside the residence of the contractor.
It is pertinent to mention here that seven persons including Royal Singh, son of Manjeet Singh, a resident of Mohallah Dalpatian District Jammu and driver of Superintendent Central Jail Kot Bhalwal namely Kuldeep Kumar, a resident of Tali Morh were already arrested in this case.
“Royal Singh was undergoing rigorous imprisonment for life in Central Jail Kot Bhawal in the much publicised Amandeep murder case. Royal Singh was the main conspirator in the firing case and is being grilled to ascertain why he planned firing on contractor Nagar Singh’s residence at Gandhi Nagar”, police sources said.
Further investigation into the case registered with Police Station Gandhi Nagar is going on.
Sources informed that a team from Police Station Gandhi Nagar went outside Jammu and Kashmir for more arrests.
