KATHUA, Apr 16: Acting tough against the consumption and production of illegal liquor menace in the district, Kathua police today recovered illicit liquor in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS), Billawar and arrested the accused.
Police said a joint team of District Special Branch (DSB) and team of Police Post Billawar in its jurisdictional area near Challan, Ramkot apprehended one suspected person namely Joginder Singh, son of Amar Singh of Barsool tehsil, Rajbagh in district Kathua.
On frisking, 12 bottles of illicit liquor was recovered from his possession. Later on, accused was arrested.
A case vide FIR No 60/2021 U/S 48 (A) Excise Act was registered in the Billawar Police Station and further investigation has been initiated.
