Kathua police rescues 11 bovines, arrests smuggler

KATHUA: Apr 16:Kathua police has foiled bovine smuggling attempt in its jurisdictional area and rescued bovines and arrested the accused.
Police said team of Police Station Kathua under the supervision of Inspector, Vijay Kumar, SHO PS Kathua on the over all directives of SSP Kathua, Romesh Chander Kotwal while performing routine vehicle checking duty in its jurisdictional area noticed a suspicious vehicle bearing Registration Number JK02AE-1686 which was being driven by Shabir Ahmed, son of Kasim Din of Belicharana Jammu.
On thorough checking of the vehicle, 11 bovines were found loaded inside it, illegally. Meanwhile, vehicle was seized and driver was arrested. All the bovines were rescued.
A case FIR No. 181/2021 U/S 188/IPC,11/PCA Act has been registered in Kathua Police Station and further investigation has been set into motion accordingly.
