Youth murdered in Kotranka

RAJOURI, Apr 1: A youth was murdered in a remote village of Kotranka, in district Rajouri today.
The deceased has been identified as 21-year-old, Mohd Zafar, son of Mohd Bashir, resident of Morha Kalyan, Jaglanu village, under Kotranka Police jurisdiction.
Police sources said that Zafar was grazing his cattle in the nearby fields. He had some heated arguments with his neighbourer , Munir Hussain (40), son of Ghulam Hussain, resident of the same hamlet. In a fit of anger during verbal clash, Munir took out a stick (Lathi) and ran after the Zafar, who escaped towards his cattle shed.
Munir allegedly attacked with Lathi on the head of Zafar several times, causing his death on the spot this afternoon. Some locals raised alarm and tried to over power Munir, but he escaped. The matter was later reported to Kotranka police.
A police party led by SHO, Habib Pathan reached the spot along with some force men. The body after spot examination was shifted to SDH, Kotranka and after completion of postmortem and legal formalities, it was handed over to the family.
Meanwhile, the police with the help of locals arrested the accused Munir Hussain and shifted him to police lock up at Kotranka Thana. A case FIR No. 30/ 2021 under Section 302 IPC was registered against the accused. Further, investigation was in progress.
