One year RI awarded in fake certificate case

JAMMU, Mar 31: Principal Sessions Judge Rajouri Jaffer Hussain Beg has awarded one year rigorous imprisonment to Abdul Rashid, son of Nabi Hussain of Manjakote for production of fake certificate at the time of his appointment in the Police Department.
After detailed examination of prosecution evidences, the Judge said, “it is proved that the accused fraudulently and dishonestly used the fake certificate voluntarily as genuine which he knew and had reason to believe to be a forged for his employment as SPO in District Police Rajouri”, adding “I am of the opinion that the accused has committed offence punishable under Section 471 RPC”.
While convicting the accused for the commission of offences punishable under Section 471 RPC, the court awarded rigorous imprisonment for one year and imposed fine of Rs 10,000. In default of payment of fine he shall further undergo imprisonment of like nature for 6 months.
“The accused person be lodged in Central Jail Kote Bhalwal for undergoing the sentence imposed upon him”, the court said.
