JAMMU, Mar 25: Department of Mathematics at Government Degree College Darhal organized a one day national workshop on ‘ICT based teaching and learning’ which was attended by a large number of participants from various colleges.
In his key note address, Principal of the College, Prof. Sumanesh Jasrotia highlighted the ICT tools and their applicability in teaching and learning.
He said that ICT based teaching is more effective as compared to traditional method of teaching as the proven rate of learning has increased in students because they see everything themselves.
He said, using smart technology in the classroom can help raise test scores, improves students’ learning, enhances literacy, boosts attentiveness and increases comprehension.
“This easy-to-learn technology ensures that both teachers and their students are developing the 21st century skills that they need in order to succeed in today’s world,” the Principal maintained.
An invited talk by National Awardee, Mohd Ayaz Raina on the topic and another invited talk by Dr. Atieq-ul-Rehman on ‘ICT in Education and its Implications’ explored the use of technology in teaching and learning. Earlier, Dr. Ather Aziz Raina, HoD Mathematics and Organizing Secretary of National Workshop presented a welcome address.
Finally vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Imtiaz Hussain Shah.
The event was organized by Dr. Ather Aziz Raina and his team comprising NSS volunteers, Sajjad Ahmed and Sobia Naseem.
