Ghagwal police rescues 32 bovines, arrests 2 smugglers

SAMBA, Mar 22: District police Samba successfully foiled attempts to smuggle bovines by rescuing 32 animals after arresting two bovine smugglers in two separate incidents in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Ghagwal.
Police said acting on reliable information regarding smuggling of bovines towards Valley a police party of PS Ghagwal, laid a vehicle checking naka at NHW Tapyal. While checking it intercepted a truck having registration number JK02AH-7425, which was coming from Kathua side and heading towards Kashmir Valley. During checking of the vehicle, 15 bovines were found laden inside it without any permission.
The accused driver identified as Amarjeet Singh, son of Bachan Singh of Gondla, RS Pura, Jammu has been arrested on spot. All the bovines were rescued and shifted to safer place. The vehicle used for transporting the bovines was also seized on spot.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 72/2021 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at PS Ghagwal and investigation started.
Similarly,  in another incident police party of PS Ghagwal rescued 17 more bovines at naka NHW Tapyal which were being transported in a truck having registration number JK02AT-3593 which was moving towards Valley.
The accused driver identified as Shabir Shah son of Bagh Hussain Shah of Sher Bibi, Banihal, Ramban has been arrested on spot. All the bovines were rescued and shifted to safer place. The vehicle used for transporting the bovines was also seized on spot.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 73/2021 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at PS Ghagwal and investigation started.
