JAMMU, Feb 26: Dr Shashi Sudhan Sharma, Principal Government Medical College and Associated Hospitals (GMC&AHs) Jammu today chaired a meeting of concerned officers to review works approved under Economically Weaker Section (EWS) quota (UG).
During the meeting, the Principal was apprised that the site for the construction for additional lecture halls and examination hall has been selected. She was also told that the DPR for construction of auditorium and cafeteria including parking, store lifts and ramps etc at CD Hospital, Jammu is ready and amount for the construction has been sanctioned by the Government.
It was decided in the meeting that the construction of additional floor of central library shall start soon as all the formalities are complete. The meeting also decided to demolish existing quarters for the construction of boys’ hostel for EWS students.
The meeting was followed by the inspection of the construction sites. For the construction of the nursing residential quarters at GMC, the particular site was found stable in consultation with engineering wing. Accordingly, the Principal directed the concerned XENs to start the construction at the proposed sites as soon as possible.
The meeting was attended by Administrator GMC & AH, Nagendra Singh Jamwal, Medical Superintendent (MS) GMC Dr Dara Singh, Deputy Director Planning, MS CD Hospital, XEN Mechanical and AEEs Civil and PDD.
