SRINAGAR, May 20: Minister of State for Technical Education and Power Development, Vikar Rasool Wani today inaugurated 6.3 MW Receiving Station at Devsar-Kulgam constructed at a cost of Rs. 1.83 crore.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that efforts are on to augment the power generation and maintenance in the State to overcome power crisis and to boost economic activities.
3/11 KV, 6.3 MVA Receiving Station at Devsar which has come up under transmission and distribution scheme in state sector will have 11 KV outgoing feeders for Devsar and Pahloo blocks which will feed 20 villages of Devsar and Pahloo covering 2500 households of Kulgam district. With the installation of the Receiving Station, 10, 000 souls will be benefitted by relieving 2/10 MVA receiving station Kulgam from overloading.
Referring to the demands raised by locals for improvement of HT/LT network, augmentation of Receiving Stations at Vessu and Kelam, upgradation of Receiving Station Qazigund, sanction of old age pension, issuance of IAY sheds, the Minister announced sanctioning of five transformers for five villages of Devsar constituency and 200 youth of block Devsar and Qazigund to be imparted ITI training under Skill Development Programme.
The Minister also visited Sopat, Chowgam, Berigam villages and the shrine of Syed Dawood Simnani (RA) and prayed for the peace and prosperity of the people of the state. The Minister directed the Chief Engineer PDD, Kashmir for changing the whole HT/LT network at village Berigam.
