NEW DELHI, May 14: Potato prices rose by 1.78 per cent to Rs 895.90 per quintal in futures trade today, mostly in tune with a firming trend in the spot market on rising demand, driven by ongoing marriage season.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, potato for the July contract rose by Rs 15.70, or 1.78 per cent, to Rs 895.90 per quintal, with a trading volume of two lots.
The delivery for in June also traded higher by Rs 5.40, or 0.58 per cent, to Rs 933 per quintal, with a business volume of just one lot.
Marketmen said the rise in potato prices at futures trade was attributed to the rising spot demand on account of marriage season. (PTI)
