SAMBA, May 12: The fifth martyrdom day of IDP leader Hoshiar Singh and his wife Shashi Bala was observed here today who died in a militant attack in Samba on this day five years back.
A large number of people drawn from all walks of life participated in the programme and paid rich tributes to the couple.
The function was among others attended by I D Khajuria All India President IDP, its State president Subash Singh, its general secretary Mr Kali, District president Col (retd) Mohan Singh and others.
They while highlighting the sacrifices of the duo said that Hoshiar Singh had a true faith in the democracy and he championed the cause of the people of the state especially those belonging to weaker sections of the society.
