Truck driver arrested with 5.80 kgs hashish

JAMMU, Jan 1: Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) arrested a truck driver along with 5.80 kilograms of hashish.
According to SP ANTF Vinay Sharma, information was received by ANTF from reliable sources that some consignment of narcotics is being transported from Kashmir to Jammu in a truck bearing Registration Number JK02AJ-1985.
On receiving the information, the sleuths of ANTF swung into action and laid check points at various locations, SP said, adding that the team successfully intercepted the said truck near Environmental Park Nagrota-Sidhra bye pass road.
“During checking, 5.80 kilograms of hashish was recovered”, SP said, adding that driver of the truck identified as Imtyaz Ahmed, son of Rafiq Hussain of Kot Dhara, District Rajouri has been arrested.
A case under FIR Number 1/21 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered and ANTF is investigation forward and backward links of arrested narcotics smuggler.
He appealed to the general public for cooperation in their campaign against drug dealers to eradicate this menace from the society.
