JAMMU, Dec 22: A delegation of All Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh Teachers Federation (AJKLTF), affiliated with Akhil Bhartiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh (ABRSM), called on Director School Education Jammu.
The delegation, under the chairmanship Rattan Sharma, State General Secretary, submitted charter of demands to the Director and discussed various burning issues of the teaching fraternity.
The main issues was recent reliving of In-service teachers from undergoing B Ed courses at Govt College of Education Canal Road Jammu . The delegation alleged that the Government on the one hand focusses on training of untrained teachers but on the other hand In-service teachers were relieved by the Principal of the College, which is contradictory in itself.
The DSE Jammu said that she would take up the matter with the Commissioner Secretary School Education as well as Higher Education Deptt.
The second burning issue raised by the AJKLTF delegation was delaying in conducting of DPC in the different non-gazetted cadres. The delegation expressed dismay over the improper updated seniority lists of PG Teachers/Masters in different disciplines issued by the Education Deptt. The delegation said that no DPC was held for promotion of teachers to master grade since Feb 2014 .
The DSE said that DPC committees were framed at the District levels to look into the matter and she will soon call meeting with the concerned CEOs to review the progress on the issue .
Other issued discussed in the meeting, included, pending salary arrears /DA arrears of the Grade-2 /Grade-3 teachers, transfers of teachers in the Jammu province etc.
The Director gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured the delegation she will try her best to resolve all the issues raised by them .
The delegation comprised of Rattan Sharma, Radha Krishan, Gurdeep Kumar Singh, Mohan Singh Parihar, Romit Kumar, Arvind Kumar and others.
