SRINAGAR, May 8 : State Cabinet, which met under the chairmanship of Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah this morning, approved special dispensation for the recruitment of teachers on the Rehbar-e-Taleem (ReT) pattern in socially and educationally backward areas and near the Line of Actual Control.
The Cabinet extended the validity for filing up regular vacancies of teachers retrospectively with effect from August 4, 2012 till date and prospectively for the period of two years with effect from May 5, 2013.
Earlier, on the basis of Cabinet decision, Government in order to make up the deficiency of staff in elementary level schools in far-flung and inaccessible areas, had ordered on August 4, 2010 to fill up the regular vacancies of teachers in far-flung areas on the pattern of ReT for two years. The validity of that Government order had expired on August 4, 2012.
However, there was no decision on the transfers in the Police Department and filling up of vacant posts of SSPs in four district.
