JAMMU, May 8: Highlighting grievances of casual labourers in PDD, All J&K PDD casual labour Employees Union organized a protest dharna near Press Club, here today.
The protesting workers raised slogans against the Government and in support of their demands. They alleged that because of wrong policies of the Government, the casual labourers were facing hardships.
While addressing the dharna, Akhil Sharma said that despite release of Rs 6.5 crore in their favour, wages of the casual labourers were not being released. Some vested interests have got their blue eyed persons inducted in the list of casual labourers thereby hampering the interests of these workers, he added.
Others who addressed the protest dharna, included Mohinder Pal Sharma, Sheesh Kumar Junaid Ahmed and Sham Lal.
