Prem Nath Trust to meet Sonia, others for early passage of Shrines Bill

JAMMU, May 7: Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust in a meeting here today decided to approach the leaders at national level to apprise them of the critical condition of the shrines and the continued damage being caused due to unnecessary delay in passing the Kashmiri Hindu Shrines and Temples Bill.
The Trust which has initiated a movement for the enactment of the law for safeguarding the Hindu shrines in Kashmir valley which suffered a lot of damage during turmoil period for not being properly managed and taken care of said that the Government has made false promises with the community in this regard so far.
The meeting while expressing grave concern over the delay in passage of the Shrines Bill has decided to meet the Congress president, Sonia Gandhi, party vice president Rahul Gandhi and the leaders of Opposition parties, other national leaders and opinion makers at the Union Capital in this regard.
The meeting also chalked out the future strategy and said that it will continue protests to press the powers that be to fulfill their promises. The protest meetings are to be held at different places to inform the people of the struggle as well as bring the universal demand of the community for the protection of the endangered shrines and temples in the Valley.
