SRINAGAR : Expressing satisfaction over peaceful end of the India-China face-off in Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today wanted to know why “we have also pulled back our troops from our own land.”
“I am glad that the stand off with China over its incursion in Daulat Beg Oldi sector on Line of Actual Control (LAC) was resolved peacefully,” Mr Abdullah told reporters at Civil Secretariat, seat of the government on the opening of Darbar Move office in summer capital, Srinagar.
He said the diplomatic means adopted by the Government of India (GoI) on the issue achieved the desired results.
Mr Abdullah, however, said, If media reports are correct, we need a clarification from the GoI as to why we pulled our troops from the area which belongs to us.
I wonder why we have agreed to pull out our troops asked. China had entered our area when we were in our own area. “we want a clarification from Home Ministry.”
Mr Abdullah said there had been regular incursions from China on LAC in the Ladakh region.
However, this time troops from China remained on this side of the LAC for more than 19 days.
