POONCH, May 4: The district administration charge- sheeted seven doctors during surprise visit to a Sub-District Hospital and two other Health Centers in Mendhar tehsil of district Poonch today.
Official sources said that on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Sajjad Ahmed Khan, Chief Medical Officer Poonch, Dr Vijay Kumar Saini paid surprise visit to Sub District Hospital Mendhar at around 12.30 pm today and found two doctors not attending OPD during duty hours and examining patients privately at their official residence.
Identified as Dr Zakir Hussain and Dr Rakia Parveen, the CMO charge-sheeted both the medicos and recommended action against them to the District Development Commissioner, Poonch and Director Health Services Jammu, Dr Madhu Khullar.
The CMO also visited Primary Health Centre, Mankote and found three doctors and a staff nurse absent from duty. They were identified as Dr Haq Nawaz, Dr Muzaffar (MO), Dr Rajiv Sharma and staff nurse Shahida Kouser.
Three more doctors who were found absent from duty at Primary Health Centre Harani included Dr Shakeel Anjum, Dr Om Parkash and Dr Vibhakar Datta.
Dr Saini charge-sheeted all the doctors and staff nurse and recommended action against them to the Director Health Services and the District Development Commissioner.
DC Poonch when contacted said that he has received information on phone regarding this immediate action against these Medical officers from the CMO and when he receives written communiqué from his side, he will take appropriate action.
