KATHUA, May 4: A delegation of Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Forum district Kathua met Chief Education Officer, Kathua in his office chambers and submitted a memorandum highlighting the demands of the teachers of the district.
As per a release, the delegation demanded distribution of text books in all the zones of the district as some of the books have not been distributed till date due to which students and teachers face lot of problems. It demanded adjustment of masters who have been deployed in the district and those who have completed their stay and are still working in Bani and Malhar zones be transferred and adjusted under new transfer policy near their residences.
It demanded release of salary of teachers under SSA immediately, payment of training allowance to the teachers who attended the training during March this year but have not been paid DA till date.
The delegation said that the newly promoted lecturers be adjusted.
The CEO after hearing the demands assured the delegation that directives will be given to all ZEOs to distribute the books and submitted a report about those books which have not been received from the BOSE so that the matter is taken up with higher authorities.
He also assured that the adjustment orders will be issued soon and the proposals in this regard are being submitted to higher authorities.
Meanwhile, a meeting of the J&K Teachers Forum Zone Malhar was held at Billawar to discuss the problems of the teachers community.
As per a release, the Forum alleged that the salaries of ReT teachers of the zone for last three four months have not been released.
It said this has led to a lot of resentment among the teachers community who brought the issue in the notice of Tehsildar Billawar and SDM Billawar also.
The Forum said that it has become difficult for them to work in these toughest zones like Malhar.
They warned that in case the problems were not solved the teachers of the Zone will be forced launch agitation.
