Bharav Ashtami on Dec 7, preparations started at Chowk Chabutra temple

JAMMU, Nov 21: The annual festival of Bharav Ashtami will be celebrated on December 7 this year and the preparations to celebrate the occasion have started at Pracheen Bharav Mandir in Chowk Chabutra area of Jammu city.
This was informed by Pandit Rumil Sharma, priest at the temple after a meeting of volunteers wherein duties like maintaining social distancing etc were allotted to the volunteers.
Sharma said that decoration work of the temple has started and appealed devotees to visit the temple following all the safety measures like wearing face masks, maintaining social distancing etc.
He also said that the devotees may also pay obeisance from their homes and informed that remaining functions will be decided in next meeting.
It is pertinent to mention here that Bharav Ashtami is celebrated every year at Pracheen Bharav Mandir where many rituals are performed and a large number of devotees throng the temple to pay obeisance to the deity.
Entire market near the temple remains beautifully decorated on Bharav Ashtami.
