CBJ lodges FIR against cheat with criminal background for Rs 30 lacs fraud over a piece of land

JAMMU: Crime Branch Jammu registered a formal Criminal case against accused Gandharab Singh S/O Amir Chand and his son Arjun Singh R/O Thangarpuli Channi Himmat for cheating the complainant and duping him of Rs. 30 lacs over a piece of land (plot), falling in a prime location in Jammu City in Greater Kailash Jammu. Both the accused induced the complainant to enter a deal of Rs 60 lacs as cost of the plot, out of which Rs 30 lacs was paid in advance after executing various ‘agreements to sell’ with regard to sale of said land over which they were having no ownership title, however on the basis of forged ‘agreement to sell’, they allured the complainant to handover a huge amount of Rs. 30 Lacs in the year 2017 to the accused.
A written complaint was received in Crime Branch, Jammu wherein complainant Krishan Lal S/o Sh. Amar Nath R/o Dhakki Bazar, ward No. 7, Rajouri, at present Deeli Greater, Jammu, alleging therein that both the accused executed various ‘agreements to sell’ with regard to sale of land over which they were having no ownership title and on the basis of forged agreement to sell allured the complainant to handover a huge amount of Rs. 30 Lacs to them.
Accused Gandharab Singh is a notorious criminal involved in double murder case in FIR No. 70/2001 U/S 302/RPC P/S Trikuta Nagar.
On receipt of instant complaint, a preliminary verification was conducted by Crime Branch, Jammu statement of witnesses and the record received from various banks and concerned Revenue office, it has been prima facie established that suspects Gandharab Singh S/O Amir Chand R/O Thangarpuli Channi Himmat, Jammu and his son Arjun Singh with a malafide intention by impersonating himself as owner in possession of land measuring 10 Marlas in Khasra No. 635 situated at Deeli Greater Jammu through various agreements to sell and affidavits and allured the complainant dishonestly and executed a document through his son Arjun Singh with the intention to be believed by the complainant that Arjun Singh is the absolute owner in possession of land in contention and forged the affidavit and allured the complainant to deliver Rs. 30 lacs to the involved accused  persons for the land of which the suspect had no title. Thus, the accused persons caused huge loss to the complainant and subsequent gains to themselves
The aforementioned omissions and commissions on the part of accused person constitute offences punishable u/s 420, 465, 467, 468, 120-B IPC. Accordingly, a formal case is registered in P/S Crime Branch, Jammu and investigation of the case is set in motion.
