3 more die of Corona in Jammu; 213 test positive, 171 recover

JAMMU, Nov 8: A woman was among three persons who died of co-morbidities and COVID-19 in Jammu region today while 213 persons tested positive and 171 others recovered from the virus.
Eighteen persons tested positive for COVID-18 in residential areas, markets and offices in Jammu district during Rapid Antigen Testing (RAT).
They include six cops from Pouni Chak Police Post, two persons each from Muthi, Barnai, Parade Bazaar and Janipur and one each from Baagar Mandi, Poonch House Talab Tillo, Bus Stand, Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Jewel Chowk and Chatha Road.
An 82-year-old woman from Doda, presently putting up at Lower Kaluchak in Jammu, died of co-morbidities and Coronavirus in the Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu, where she was admitted on November 2.
A 58-year-old man from Subash Nagar died of multiple ailments and pathogen in the GMC Jammu eight days after his hospitalization.
Another person hailing from Jammu district died in a Punjab hospital during treatment for COVID-19.
With three deaths today, Corona toll in the Jammu region has reached 518 including 269 in Jammu district, 48 each Rajouri and Doda, 33 Kathua, 32 Udhampur, 25 Samba, 22 Poonch, 18 Ramban, 15 Kishtwar and eight in Reasi district.
Among 213 Corona positive cases reported today, 95 hailed from Jammu district, 21 Poonch, 20 Udhampur, 16 Doda, 15 Kathua, 13 each Samba and Kishtwar, seven each Rajouri and Ramban and six in Reasi district.
Of 171 persons who recovered from the virus, Jammu district topped with 109 recoveries followed by 20 Poonch, 16 Ramban, 10 Doda, eight Kishtwar, five Rajouri, two Kathua and one in Udhampur district.
Jammu region now has 39309 Corona cases. Among them, 1549 are active positives while 37242 have recovered from the virus and there were 518 casualties in the region.
The Union Territory of Ladakh reported 72 new cases-64 in Leh and eight in Kargil.
Ladakh has 816 active cases including 707 in Leh and 109 in Kargil district.
