JAMMU, Oct 20: Students held the staff of Directorate of School Education (DSE) Jammu hostage for couple of hours.
The protesting students forcefully locked the main gate of the DSE office on getting information that Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) is going to hold a video conference there.
The students raised slogans against JKBOSE and in favour of their demand of including their forms for board examination.
“We deposited fee and application form of board exam in Anuradha Public School Barnai, but the same were not deposited in board by the school authorities”, the protesting students said and added that a master of school has taken money in lieu of depositing forms and has gone missing.
A team from Police Station Domana Inspector Chanchal Singh also rushed to the spot to pacify the students.
When contacted, JKBOSE Chairperson Prof Veena Pandita said that a committee has been constituted by Director School Education (DSE) Jammu to enquire into the matter.
“Action will be taken as per report submitted by the committee”, she added.
