JAMMU, Oct 16: Kashmiri Pandit Sabha,(KPS) Ambphalla, discussed formation of unholy alliance for Gupkar declaration in an emergency meeting chaired by its president, KK Khosa, and its fallout on the future of the J&K UT here, today.
K. K. Khosa while addressing the meeting wondered at the statement of politicians who till yesterday were shouting “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” are now saying, Kashmiris don’t like India.
The members expressed their strong resentment over the fact that the political parties who have been pursuing different ideologies till yesterday are trying to forge an alliance of convenience just to occupy the space which has been created by the removal of separatists from the scene. They are forgetting that no section of the people of J & K is unhappy with the abrogation of Article 370 and 35 A except for those who have been exploiting them to further their political ends.
Having enjoyed political power for decades under the Constitution of India which they have been swearing by again and again the right course for them should have been to wait for the verdict of the Supreme Court before which this issue is pending.
In the meantime, these parties are advised to play a positive role to create a conducive environment for return of peace so that the Narendra Modi Government is able to fulfill its promise of restoration of statehood to the Union Territory. Instead of negative politics which will boomerang in view of the changed scenario and the overall acceptability of the Constitutional changes that have taken place in the UT, the political parties must understand that the common people of the UT especially the youth will never spare those who try to once again serve old wine in new bottles. The youth of the J&K are forging ahead in all spheres of life due to the progressive policies of the Modi led Government and the hand holding rendered by it especially to this State
All members vociferously decried the statement of Dr. Farooq Abdullah about China which tantamounts to sedition. Members who spoke in the meeting were A. K. Braroo, Ashwani Kaul, S. L. Bagati, G. J. Kampassi, Subash Dhar, B. L. Tiku, Ashok Khar, Dr. Usha Tickoo, Kewal Sher, J. L. Zutshi, Jitender Parimoo, Rajinder Tiku, Deepak Dhar and others.
