JAMMU, Oct 1: Over two dozen women from Chatha area near here today joined the Apni Party in presence of its Provincial President, Manjit Singh.
The joining was facilitated by Apni Party Provincial President of Women Wing, Namrta Sharma.
Welcoming the new entrants into party folds Singh said that Chatha area lacks developmental activities and poor cleanliness because of failure of the concerned department.
“The authorities should maintain proper hygiene particularly in view of pandemic situation. The roads are in shabby condition and developmental works have been stalled,” he said after hearing the issues of the women from Chatha.
These women appraised Apni Party leader Namrta Sharma about various issues they face in the area.
After hearing their issues, Namrta expressed her serious concern over the unscheduled power cuts and inadequate drinking water supply in many areas of Jammu.
She said the Power Development Department (PDD) has failed to provide proper electricity supply in Jammu district.
“Unscheduled power cuts will lead to shortage of drinking water supply,” she added.
She demanded proper health care facilities in Chatha so that the locals are not referred to GMC Jammu which is over-burdened with the Corona positive patients.
Ex-MLA Fakir Nath, Rajeev Sharma, Vaibhav Mattoo, Janmeet Singh Bali among others were also present on the occasion.
