AIMCCC discusses demands of displaced Pandits

JAMMU, Sept 16: All India Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AIMCCC) in its meeting discussed various demands of the displaced Pandits from Valley and urged the Government to settle them at an earliest in view of the pressing problems faced by the displaced people living in camp and non cam area.
The demands discussed included enhancement of cash relief to Rs.500 per head per day, release of balanced ex-gratia of gutted houses, cowsheds and other structures in Valley since 1990, permanent rehabilitation in Kashmir Valley, benefits of all Central Government schemes be given to displaced Pandits like Ayushman Bharat, Beti Padao Beti Bachao, Ladli Beti and other social welfare schemes, implementation of special healing touch policy for all those youth who get over-aged and could not get Government jobs during migration period.
It also demanded one job to one family, minority status to KPs, their political empowerment, installation of bore wells at Jagti township as Jagti tenement intimates are facing drinking water problems since 2012, construction of one more township on the pattern of Jagti township for those migrants living on rented basis, announcement of one more amnesty for migrants so that people can make their records correct, economic package and separate budget for KPs, removal of encroachments from migrants land and property in Valley and passage of Temple Bill.
Addressing the meeting Desh Rattan, president AIMCCC said that a memorandum on these demands was already submitted to Lt Governor Manoj Sinha during his recent visit to the township and it is hoped that he will take steps in redressing all the issues of the displaced people.
