3013 vehicles registered in Jammu since Aug 1: RTO

JAMMU, Sept 11: In response to Excelsior news on delay in issuance of Registration Certificates of new vehicles, Regional Transport Office Jammu has said that a total of 23419 vehicles stand registered through Dealer Assisted Registration in the whole UT of J&K and 3013 of them were registered in District Jammu only since 01-08-2020.
“In some cases, a corrigendum was required to be issued for registration of BS-VI vehicles which stands issued on 10-09-2020 and the pendency on this account shall be cleared within week’s time by all the Registering Authorities. However, in certain cases the dealer has sold the vehicles without uploading genuine documents on Vahan Portal like variant approval and address proof etc as required under Motor Vehicles Act / Rules. Accordingly, the show cause notices have been issued to the concerned defaulting Automobile Dealers by the Registering Authority, Jammu and such cases will be disposed of after uploading of correct documents by the concerned automobile dealer,” said an official spokesperson of the RTO Jammu.
