JAMMU, Sept 9: The non camp migrants have demanded settlement of long pending demands of the Kashmir migrants with ensuring of job opportunities to the displaced youth.
This was stated by Makhan Lal Bhat, representative of non camp migrants. He demanded enhancement of cash relief in view of skyrocketing prices of essential commodities, scholarships for the migrant students who belong to poor families and employment package for the youth.
Bhat, while expressing concern over the plight of the displaced people especially living in rented accommodations and dilapidated quarters in Purkhoo TRT demanded construction of more quarters for accommodating them as the relief holders and class fourth employees are unable to pay the heavy rent outside.
He demanded due attention be paid to non camp migrants and their problems be redressed.
Bhat said that a memorandum in this connection was also submitted to LG during his visit to Jammu by a deputation which was led by him and was accompanied by Priya Bhat and Kanta Ji Bhan.
Bhat and R L Raina president Durga Nagar Welfare Committee also complimented the Government for issuing appointment orders for 52 waiting list candidates under PM package. Raina urged the chairman Services Selection Board to publish the waiting list of statistical assistants as there is no migrant candidate in the list in the RBA category.
